From spring to autumn, our sheep build our pasture soil with their unique, immediately-useful manure (a.k.a. ‘cold’ fertilizer), and when on winter pasture, we transport their manure to our fruit and vegetable garden areas during shelter cleanings. This system, combined with the use of cover crops, crop rotation, minimal tillage, and the absence of poisons, pesticides, and herbicides, gives us the soil health and longevity for raising the most nutritious crops available.
